New Video: Paragliding Peril: “We’re too close to the mountain!”

July 18, 2009 – Kaş, Turkey
Check out this new video of me paragliding over the Turkish Mediterranean. Me and my ex-Turkish Army pilot, “Whiskey,” set sail from the mountains high above the town of Kaş.
The term “paragliding” was first coined in the 1970s to refer to a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing.
You both launch and land a paraglider into wind. Basically, the pilot runs forward so that the air pressure generated by the forward movement inflates the wing (or chute). That’s what we did as we ran right off the mountain…

I guess the lesson here is when in jeopardy squeal and giggle?
Well…what would you do?
