Made it to Ankara!

July 11, 2009: Ankara
Whew! After nearly 24 hours of travel, I finally checked in to my hotel. It’s 11:30 pm and I’m wide awake…probably because I slept most of the way. Here’s the thing: I can pretty much sleep on command. I taught myself this trick during my days of long-haul flights to Asia.
I’m off to Cappadocia early tomorrow to spend a couple of days exploring caves, riding ATVs, and seeing the Whirling Dervishes. …sounds like fun!
Be sure and chck out the new GoErinGo.com home page — my itinerary is all mapped out and there’s a hiliarious pic of me on a flying carpet.
And about the itinerary…I might be changing it already. I read my Lonely Planet book on the flight over and might have to spend more time on the Turkish Riveria. The sun and sea are drawing me and I may not be able to resist the pull…
Look for pics with the next posting! Lyi gercler (that’s goodnight in Turkish)!

this is very cool: being able to monitor your progress! And we didn’t even get to say goodby. Jerry asked me if I’d seen you, I said no, but you’re around because I’ve seen your car. Your departure date snuck passed, or past, I’m not sure, but it did sneak. It looks like Daniel watered your garden today (it looks very nice) before going to Fort Baker. I said hi to the kitties through the window screen. I will look forward to following your adventures.
Ken
Glad you arrived safely. Guess this is how I will know where you are. ATV’s, don’t remember you telling me anything about that! Wear a helmet!!!!
Hi Ken!
Glad the garden is surviving (especialy since it took me three attempts at planting!).
Give a cuddle to the kitties for me! :o)

Dear Sam (aka Mom),
Of course I’m wearing helmets — sheesh! And people wonder why I go radio-silence when I travel…
